Income guidelines for most medication assistance programs

Postby NoPocketCash » Sat Aug 04, 2007 12:38 pm

Medication assistance programs usually have as one of their requirements that you meet certain minimum income standards. They count the number of people in a household and the total gross income of all those people. This usually means that you personally could be making an extremely low income but be disqualified if the total income of the household is too high. They usually have cutoffs at 100%, 150%, 200%, 250%, or 300% of federal poverty guidelines. Note that Alaska and Hawaii are special and allow higher incomes.

2007 HHS Poverty Guidelines from http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/07poverty.shtml used to determine eligibility in most drug assistance programs.
