And even if they are seen, it can be embarrassing to admit them. For example, depression often affects a person's ...

Re: I'm 60 and unemployed , type 1 diabetic

Hi strt722, Please accept my condolences on the loss of your wife. I recently lost my father, and while that is not the same as losing a spouse I can still empathize with how difficult it must be for you. I want to emphasize something you said that jimithy also noticed: I don't feel that I could wor...

Re: Ways to Reduce Pet Bills

Excellent ideas! One correction though...since there's no absolute way to know if your pet has been bitten by a mosquito, your pet should always have a heartworm test before starting on heartworm preventative medicine (Interceptor, Heartguard, etc.). Canadian pharmacies

Hi Kmac, I'm glad you were able to get a vial of Humalog to hold you over for a few weeks. Canada has their own regulatory procedures very similar to the the U.S. FDA. The FDA has declared it is illegal to import drugs from other countries because even though the medications may be approved in the U...

NEW U.S. HHS study - Older/Cheaper Drugs Are More Effective

The Annals of Internal Medicine (established by the American College of Physicians in 1927) just published a federally funded (Health and Human Services) report on Monday (July 16, 2007) comparing all diabetes medications. The results do not surprise me. The newest medications, Avandia and Actos, fo...

Unused diabetic supplies can help others

www.ipump.org takes donations of diabetes supplies and distributes them where there are needed.

The supplies must be sealed, not expired, and have no blood on them.

They are distributed to organizations that help the needy.

This really is a great organization!
